VACS data dashboard

The VACS Data Dashboard is a comprehensive online tool designed to provide easy access to data from the Violence Against Children and Youth Surveys (VACS) across more than 20 countries. These surveys, led by national governments, with technical assistance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as part of the Together for Girls (TfG) partnership, are the most comprehensive global source of data on the prevalence of violence against children and youth, risk and protective factors, associated health and social outcomes, and disclosure and service seeking. The VACS provide critical insights to inform prevention and response actions to address violence as a global public health and human rights issue.

This dashboard allows users to explore hundreds of VACS data points in an interactive and intuitive way. Users can filter data by key parameters such as type of violence, country, age group, and gender, making it possible to generate customized and downloadable tables and graphs.

Important data considerations

Please note that not all indicators are available for all countries. Additionally, definitions of violence may vary across countries. For more detailed information on each country's specific definitions, survey questions, and indicators, we recommend visiting the respective country page on our website and reviewing the corresponding country report.

Data access

Interested in working with the raw data? The public use datasets are available for download, enabling researchers, policymakers, and advocates to conduct further analysis and contribute to ongoing efforts to end violence against children.
