The month of April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Throughout this month, the Keep Kids Safe coalition is raising awareness of sexual violence and promoting events that amplify the voices of survivors. Additionally, we are calling on the Biden-Harris Administration to recognize April 8 as the Day for Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, Healing, and Justice. Add your name to the letter here calling for the commemoration of the April 8 Day, as well as the launch of a bold Presidential Initiative to end sexual violence against children and adolescents during the first 200 days of the Administration.
On April 8, Keep Kids Safe partners will host a “relay” of events in commemoration of the Day for Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, Healing, and Justice.

All day: Harvard University and The Catholic University of America will host a virtual symposium on Faith and Flourishing in the Face of Childhood Sexual Abuse with a keynote address by Reverend Dr. Denis Mukwege, 2018 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. 11am ET: Darkness to Light will host an “Honest Conversation” Facebook Live with leaders from the Keep Kids Safe coalition to kick off the day with a discussion of the state of child sexual abuse prevention in America. 2pm ET: The Army of Survivors, SNAP, and Together for Girls will host a Survivor Speak Out open to survivors of sexual assault as well as their friends, family, other supporters and allies. For more information and to register, click here.
6:30pm ET: CHILD USA will host a live film screening of “Silent No More,” followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with survivor-advocates Sarah Klein, Esq. and Dr. Liz Goldman, CEO and Founder of CHILD USA, Professor Marci Hamilton, ‘Silent No More’ Producer Adam Berger, and Correspondent Armen Keteyian.
