The inaugural Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children will be held on November 7-8, 2024, in Bogota, Colombia. Co-led by the governments of Colombia and Sweden, and organized in collaboration with WHO, UNICEF, and the SRSG-VAC, this landmark event aims to secure new political and financial commitments to prevent and end violence against children.
Together for Girls and the Brave Movement will mobilize advocacy efforts to influence the National Preparation Sessions ahead of the conference to secure national-level commitments to prevent and end childhood sexual violence, establish survivor consultation councils and implement critical data- and evidence-gathering initiatives, such as the Violence Against Children and Youth Surveys (VACS).

The Brave Movement has been tasked by the Global Ministerial with developing the official guidance notes on engaging survivors at the Conference and leading the coordination of a Global Survivor Council (GSC) via an open application process.
The GSC brings together individuals from survivor-led networks across the globe, who can speak to all forms of violence against children. It will play a crucial role in ensuring continuous survivor engagement in the design and delivery of the conference as well as the final political declaration.
The Brave Movement is committed to the healing and safety of GSC members. This includes the ability for several members to engage anonymously, providing their expertise and perspective while maintaining their personal safety.
For the very first time, we now have a record of the prevalence of boys and girls who have experienced some form of sexual violence around the world. Together for Girls is proud to release our upcoming "Break the Record" special-edition book, campaign, and in-person activation to raise awareness about this devastating statistic. We are calling on ministers to break the record of inaction.
Through the engagement of high-profile partnerships, ambassadors, and spokespersons, we will position the scale of this violence as a priority agenda item within the broader violence against children space and make Global Conference delegates aware of solutions aimed at prevention, healing, and justice.
