In 2012, the Government of Zimbabwe launched the Violence Against Children and Youth Survey (VACS), with technical assistance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of the Together for Girls partnership. The VACS measure multiple forms of violence against children and adolescents including sexual, physical, and emotional; they also provide important data on risk factors, protective factors, and consequences of violence. In 2017, the Government of Zimbabwe repeated the VACS and published this second report in 2019.
