International Day of Education

Education is a human right, a public good and a public responsibility.

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 24 January as International Day of Education, in celebration of the role of education for peace and development.

In 2025, it will be celebrated under the theme “AI and education: Preserving human agency in a world of automation”, to encourage reflections on the power of education to equip individuals and communities to navigate, understand and influence technological advancement.
