16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 2023: Invest to prevent violence against women and girls

The 16 Days of Activism global campaign has fought to end gender-based violence for over three decades. Every year, the campaign begins on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and ends on December 10, the International Day of Human Rights.

Over two weeks, individuals, civil society, grassroots organizations, UN agencies, and governments join together to demand accountability for the protection of women and girls.

This global campaign utilises the colour orange to represent a brighter future, free from violence against women and girls, as a unifying theme running through all its global activities.

In 2023, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence was celebrated under the theme "UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls".
